R is for Rainbow Warrior Clogs

You'll have to wait for the piccy, I'm just off to Silverstone for the day. I bet you can't guess what the S piccy will be can you???

Back later with clog and race track pics!

Q is for Quince

Saturday, 5 July 2008

The flowering variety - not sure if there is a non flowering one ;-) A very apt addition to the blog alphabet and Charlie's final resting place.

Trying again!!

So..... thanks once again to the lovely Anne I have suggestions for a lace project and confirmation that I was doing the pattern for the scarf correctly at one stage and shouldn't have doubted myself!

Today is going to be a good day - I am going to find pics of things for Q, R and S and I am going to make a decision on the lace project and start it! The weather is very odd today and I am not sure it is a riding day - well not so far it isn't, way too much wind so much knitting and tidying will be done! I'll check back later with pics of projects and decluttering successes!

So, this is what happens when....

Friday, 4 July 2008

you decide to have breakfast at the field
when Denver is on the loose

and Denver decides he would like to try noodles.

Ok, so noodles may not be your first choice for brekkie but that was all we had at the field and poor Harry had been dragged out of bed and needed sustenance to get him through the morning jobs at the field! I think Denver quite liked them ;-)

We have nipped back to the house for a coffee and sit down before heading back to lunge Muttley and ride Denver and Moon. Clive and Rowan have gone to Silverstone and George is at work so it is really quiet here.

Once I have done all my horse related chores I am determined to sit down and blog a few more letters of the alphabet and start some knitting. The Klondike Scarf is first on the list, courtesy of the lovely Anne and then maybe a lace project. Hmmmm, so many patterns to choose from. Any suggestions for a first lace project?

I am truly a numpty and have had to pull the scarf back - was going to start over again when world war 3 erupted. I think I'll leave it 'til tomorrow to try again!

P is for Present

Thursday, 3 July 2008

Ta da!!!! A present for Sadie - hand spun Gotland made into a nice snuggly shawl. Please also note I have stopped taking pics of everything on the table or the floor and am finally making an attempt to be a little bit artistic. Not achieving it but attempting ;-)

Missed Opportunity

Monday, 30 June 2008

I was in Beaulieu today. A had to do trip to consume ice cream and buy farriery tools so I can tighten shoes on the ponies when needed. I had the camera phone with me and I walked by Palace House and didn't even think of getting a photo for the letter P. So, looks like the blog alphabet will have to wait a tad longer before I will find something suitable.

Nothing overly exciting here. We have tickets for Friday practice at the British Grand Prix and I have a ticket for race day on Sunday. I will have to pull my finger out and get all the horses exercised this week as I will be away all day Sunday. Haven't had a proper day out that didn't involve horses for longer than I can remember ;-)

Cynthia and her grandaughter came over for a barbecue on Saturday and R was allowed to ride Muttley. Harry played cameraman and we managed to get a somewhat fuzzy video of Muttley being a tad windswept with his new saddle and new friend.

I am taking a break from doing 'stuff' and just trying to spend some time doing things for me. It is sort of working and feels really weird not to be rushing around doing 'other peoples stuff'. I'm sure I'll get used to it. I was reading through my 101 tasks and was wondering if it would be ok to change a few of them. Having read through I feel that a couple could be tweaked and there are some things I would rather achieve. I'll think on it and decide whether or not to change some tasks - what do you think? Is it ok to change the list once it has been published? All comments welcome, as ever!

Harry is at his taster day at Brockenhurst College today, I'm kinda filling time before I have to collect him. It is way too hot here to ride at the moment so I am going to wait until Clive finishes work and then we will take Moon and/or Denver out for a wander. The weather here is positively meditteranean at the moment - perfect hay making weather, fingers crossed it continues!

Today I will be mostly........

Wednesday, 25 June 2008

taking a break from the blog alphabet. We have reached the letter P and I am going to take some time to find a worthy subject to photograph! Thank goodness I hear you cry! I know, it was getting a little desperate but you have to admit the orchids were lovely!

We are promised another day of warm, sunny weather and as the farrier is coming to attempt to put Moons shoe back on I think today will be a riding day.

Colin the foster pup has gone home to his mum. She booked both the puppies in to the vet for neutering yesterday. Sadly it didn't happen, something to do with the vets attitude so I am hoping that they will be booked in at another vet very soon!

On the knitting front - yes there is knitting happening, just not socks! - I have started a shawl for the local hospice. On Ravelry there is a group called Random Acts of Kindness where people post their wish lists. One of the posters wanted people to knit a shawl to keep cancer patients warm when they are having treatment. Having seen my friend through her chemo appointments that struck a chord with me so yesterday I cast on what will probably be the first of quite a few shawls. I must get the prem baby knitting posted off too.

Other than that life here is boring as ever, and now I think it is time for the first coffee of the day ;-)
